Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information CoatBid collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the CoatBid web application and website.

1. Information we collect

We collect:

• Account information — the email address you sign in with.
• Business / branding — company name, logo, colors, phone, contact email, and default terms you set.
• Job & proposal data — customer names, addresses, measurements, coating systems, pricing, and the proposals you create.
• E-signature data — for signed proposals, the signer's typed name, email, IP address, and timestamp, kept as an audit record.
• Payment information — handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
• Feedback & usage — suggestions you submit and basic technical data needed to operate the Service.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the Service — to authenticate you, generate estimates and proposals, deliver emails (including signed proposals), process subscriptions, respond to feedback and support, and keep the Service secure. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers

We share information with trusted providers strictly to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage.
• Stripe — subscription billing.
• Resend — transactional email (sign-in links, signed proposals).

4. Your customers' information

When you (a contractor) enter your customers' details to build a proposal, CoatBid processes that information on your behalf. You are responsible for having the right to provide it and for your own privacy obligations to your customers.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and proposal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and maintain signed-proposal audit records. You may request deletion of your account data (see “Your rights”).

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
